Lunch Break Writers is a weekly online writing accountability group that meets every Tuesday from 12:00-1:30 PM EST via Zoom. Our 90-minute sessions follow a proven structure:
First 15 minutes: Goal and intention setting
60 minutes: Silent writing time (cameras optional)
Final 15 minutes: Progress sharing and encouragement
You can attend the full session or join late/leave early as your schedule allows. This flexibility makes it perfect for busy writers looking to maintain a consistent writing practice.
Community & Support
Monthly social hours for networking and connection. Once a month we host a social hour after our regularly scheduled sessions - it’s a great opportunity to get to know each other better!

A: Nope! We offer rolling registration, so you can join anytime throughout the month. Start building your writing habit today.
Q: Can I cancel my membership anytime?
A: Absolutely. While we hope you'll love writing with our community, you can cancel your membership through your Buy Me a Coffee account at any time.
Q: Is this a critique group?
A: Lunch Break Writers is not a critique group. We don't provide feedback on each other’s work and there is no pressure to share your writing.
Q: Who is this for?
A: It’s for all writers! Our members include published and unpublished writers. Our weekly writing accountability group designed to help you establish a consistent writing practice. We welcome anyone who is seeking support to sit down and get the writing done!
Q: Will my membership auto-renew?
A: Yes, memberships automatically renew monthly based on your join date unless you choose to cancel.
Q: Where do the writing sessions take place?
A: All Lunch Break Writers sessions are hosted via Zoom. After registration, you'll receive access to the Zoom link through our member area on Buy Me a Coffee.
Q: Do I have to write in response to a prompt?
A: We each work on our projects and there are no prompts to respond to. However, if you’re stuck and would like a prompt, we’re happy to provide one for you!
Q: How much does it cost?
A: The membership fee is $25 per month (pricing effective January 1, 2025).
Q: What if I can’t make the weekly writing sessions?
A: You can still join! While our weekly writing sessions are a core benefit, membership includes much more than just the midweek sessions. You'll have access to monthly office hours, quarterly craft talks with guest speakers, and twice-yearly submission parties. Plus, you'll get all the member perks like 25% off Brown Bag Lit classes and discounts on writing coaching.
